DALLAS, Dec 16, 2004/ FW/ --- We might still be in the middle of winter come January 24th, but Persephone is already making her appearance in the fashion world as couturiers unveil their Spring 2005 collections in Paris.

The undisputed crème de la crème of fashion, the made-to-measure craft has suffered several set backs last season it Emanuel Ungaro and Versace bowing out from the starry spheres of fashion.

Together with the retirement of Hanae Mori and the bankruptcy filing of SDMLT or Société de la Master Licence Torrente, the holding company for the House of Torrente, the 136-year old Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture lost four very important fashion houses.

But there is a silver lining on the horizon. Giorgio Armani is showing off-calendar this season with at least 300 invited guests. The entrance of the very powerful and popular House of Armani in the haute couture sector is welcome news to the fashion flock.

Like last season, haute couture shows occupy only three days in the fashion calendar, less one-day from what we are accustomed to.

But the season will go on, and the international journalists and photographers will descend in Paris on January to attend and report the Spring 2005 Haute Couture season.
