PARIS, Jan 26, 2003/ FW/ --- According to the Press Office of the Fédération française de la Couture,
this is the first time in history that the Paris Menswear show takes up 5
days in the fashion calendar.
While the New York Menswear show has become non-existent, Paris Menswear is
expanding.
From the announcement, there will be 42 shows during the 5-day period, with
11 of them to be held at the Carrousel du Louvre.
From top designers which include Hedi Slimane of Dior Homme, Jean-Paul
Gaultier, Helmut Lang, there are also new names who are showing for the
first time.
Paris Menswear Show continues to be a 'test tube' of men's fashion, with
equal billing given to established designers and up-and-coming ones.
In the eyes of the la Chambre Syndicale de la Mode Masculine, all the
designers are of equal importance, whether they belong to a established
fashion house, or an emerging designer who is just starting.
And one of the reasons why the Paris Menswear Show continues to be very
strong, is the unequivocal support given by la Chambre Syndicale de la Mode
Masculine to the designers.
