LOS ANGELES, Mar 30, 2004/ FW/-- Designer Nony Tochterman of Petro Zillia presented the fashion flock with a “Menu” for clothes for Fall 2004 inspired by the flamboyant chic of the late 1920s and early 1930s.
Divided into two sections, the 38 looks shown were either part of the “Main Course” or tasty “Deserts” for the Petro Zillia woman.
The "Main Course," as expected was filled with the main looks of the season. Luxe rich fabrics in wool, mohair, herringbone, silk and plaid with playful color palette of banana, pink, sherbet, onyx, pistachio and purple.
Combinations of wool coat with knit sleeves, pants to match and a pink silk bias shirt, a wool dress worn with a multi-color mohair cardigan, wool coat, pants to match worn with a multi-color capelet evoked the sophistication and edginess of the jazz musicians during the first half of the last century.
It’s about being playful, it’s about self-confidence and most of all, it’s about style.
Smooth confidence was the “it” that gave the 1930’s gangsters such as Bonnie & Clyde their style. Nony Tochterman brought it back on the runway with the low-rise pants with a matching vest and vivid silk tops.
After a good “Main Course,” everyone always makes room for the "Dessert".
Like most god gourmet chefs, Nony Tochterman was very careful in present the “Desserts,” showing only six mouthwatering pieces to choose from.
The vanilla silk chiffon blouse with raspberry knit tie and onyx knit corset over licorice wool trumpet floor length skirt followed by a vanilla suede panel crocheted dress and Oreo plain cropped jacket have the richness and quality expected from a great dessert.
There are a lot of great looks from this collection, but my absolute favorites were the bronzed leather crochet dress with purple poppy print silk chiffon flair and the mint and berries striped knit crochet floor length dress.
