LOS ANGELES, Mar 29, 2004/ FW – Making her debut this season in Los Angeles, designer Rachel Pally went for a sexy and refined look that can be ‘mixed and matched’ for versatility.
Rachel Pally showed 40 exits of wearable designs that can go from day to evening. She used earth tone color palettes in charcoal, peach, wine, cornflower blue, rose and of course the basic black, se had ‘something for every woman, every size, every age,’ exactly like what she described her collection to be.
The designer showed us that it does not necessarily have to be thick and heavy for a collection to fit the fall season. Just by merely layering and using the same material for leggings with the right mix of colors, even cotton jersey can work well in the colder seasons.
With that said, the show started with a charcoal tie-tube top worn over a two-layer pencil skirt followed by a wine kimono dress worn with rose leggings. The designer also highlighted a few jumpsuits in sleeveless, long sleeves as well as halter.
The dresses shown also came in various forms. A peach drape-front dress, a charcoal racer back dress and a cowl-neck long sleeve mini dress just to name some.
The obi, the traditional kimono sash was reinvented as an alternative to pashima.
The obi, pashmina and a few capelets were widely seen throughout the whole show.
Basically, the designer showed how the entire collection can be mixed and matched, even layered with each other for the coming season. So ladies, there is a totally new form of ‘mix-its’ coming just when you thought it would never come back.
