LOS ANGELES, Mar 30, 2004/ FW / --- Samora has come a long way from designing for friends and herself in Italy and Egypt where she spent her childhood. Incorporating her knowledge of Italian sensuality, from her childhood and a year spent in Milan-based fashion house, Stefanel, Samora brought Italian style with an L.A. twist at Smashbox Studios today.
Using techniques of Italian couture on her Fall 2004 ready-to-wear collection, Samora created flirty skirts and dresses and peek-a-boo blouses, showing a hint of skin, but never crossing the line of vulgarity.
Using autumn colors of orange, browns and beige, she cleverly used polka dots on capelets and low-rise pantsuits with a navel-baring top. And on a whim, a beige suit trimmed with fur was also adorned with dots.
But don’t think that it’s all about polka dots. Samora also went for animal prints and stripes, making it a very lively collection.
Using luxe fabrics like viscose, ultra suede and cashmere as the basis of for the collection, the USC graduate also went for the more plebian polyester, cotton and corduroy.
It might sound incongruous on paper, but actually, it worked. She pulled it all together with fishnet stockings and mini gloves, giving the collection an even sexier look with a touch of edginess.
Favorites to watch out for when this collection hits the store shelves are the corduroy bolero with red and gold embroidery with matching Capri pants, corduroy jacket with fur and feather collar worn with an embroidered corduroy straight leg pant and the corduroy coat with red and gold embroidery, brown ultra suede skirt with buckle with an orange embroidered crop vest.
But how can you pass up the beige & black two hook jacket worn with a white pinstriped baby doll dress or even the brown ultra suede skirt with buckle with a matching ultra suede jacket.
So ladies, make up your shopping list with specific items so you will know just what to get when it hits the storefront this coming Fall/Winter 2004.
