Samora, who is celebrating her sixth consecutive collection being previewed during the Los Angeles season, continues to evolve on her creative efforts with her 60-piece Fall 2006 collection that is nostalgic and optimistic.

Drawing her inspiration from the relatively innocent days of the 1930s through the 1950s, Samora took the best elements, put them through a sieve, then retrofitted them to become modern contemporary looks that are feminine and polished.

Opening with a brown wool shawl collar jacket over pleated glen check floral printed wool corset, paired with a brown fitted flared skirt, set the tone of her collection – understated glamour using luxe fabrics and rich tones of fall colors.

“The collection captures the nostalgia from the past, combining romance and minimalism with a glimmer of optimism,” said Samora about the collection.

“When women wear my latest designs, their moods will change and they will suddenly feel elegant and glamorous,” she added.

Sticking to slim silhouettes, Samora carefully added volume by way of balloon skirts, puff sleeves and tiny ruffles. Trousers were pencil thin and were usually Capri length. Playing with texture, she paired lace with wool, knits with chiffon and metallic brocade with velvet.

Choosing wine, midnight blue, emerald green, grey and brown for her main color palette, Samora evoked the beauty of the season as mixed and matched them in the collection.

This collection insured that her popularity among the Los Angeles social set and Hollywood celebrities continues. The presence of sisters Hilary & Haley Duff, and Caroline Bacardi, heiress to Bacardi rum at the front row is proof enough of her status among the LA area’s power groups.
