LOS ANGELES, Oct 21, 2005/ FW/ --- A mainstay of the Los Angeles season, Samora delighted her audience with her exquisite and romantic Spring 2006 collection inspired by the Spanish countryside shown yesterday at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week at Smashbox Studios.
‘The Spanish culture has a lot of passion and fashion,’ Samora told FW during a pre-show interview. ‘As to why the Spanish countryside as the inspiration, it’s because I also want to bring the beauty, serenity and optimistic quality of the Spanish,’ Samora added.
Vivacious and gregarious, Samora is the best poster girl for her creations that are always upbeat and buoyant. Known for her use of luxe fabrics translated into clothing with multi-cultural influences, Samora has continued to gather momentum since her Fall 2002 debut in Culver City.
And for Spring / Summer 2006, Samora did not disappoint her audience, presenting 27 delicately lovely silhouettes that are modern, urbane yet intrinsically romantic.
On an old rose runway lined up with fresh daisies and a backdrop of an old Spanish hacienda entrance, Samora opened with a tangerine wrap top with white motiffed A-line skirt with crochet tulle trim under angular white jacket, setting the tone for her collection.
Softly waisted A-line skirts, frocks and dresses, light and flirtatious camisoles, multi-functional jackets and delicate tea length dresses were accented with layered ruffles, ajouré stitching and ruching.
Combining European aesthetics with the comfort-oriented American style, Samora also send shorts and Bermudas, paired with lightly fitted tops and blouses, showing a little skin giving it a very sensual effect.
This Los Angeles season is one of the strongest ever, and Samora is one of the designers who helped made it so!
