Last year, Mercedes Australian Fashion Week in Sydney celebrated its 10th year. In 2003, then New York Fashion Week, now known as Olympus Fashion Week celebrated its 10th year. Who would have guessed that South Africa would join the listing of “10 year celebrations” in the fashion industry, but they did.

In upscale Sandton, South Africa which is South Africa’s version to New York City, Lucilla Booyzen, Founder and Director of Sanlam SA Fashion Week has given us a four day extensive, initiative in which international and local media, fashion industry professionals, buyers and fashion designers came together with the focus of viewing and showing South Africa’s Spring/Summer 2006/07 Collections at the Sandton Convention Center, just outside of the Johannesburg. .

Day 1 highlights - Sanlam SA Fashion Week:

In my opinion, day one at Sanlam SA Fashion Week, has made an impression on me with a keen interest to view and critique the remaining days of Sanlam SA Fashion Week. I am curios to see what the other fashion designers will present, what their Collection direction will be and how the press will respond to their Lines - it's a wrap.
