LOS ANGELES, Oct. 15, 2005 / FW / - With all the hustle and bustle of Fashion Week from New
York, London, Milan, Paris and Los Angeles, and now San Francisco will also be showing their
very first International Fashion Week immediately after the LA Fashion Week from
October 21 – 23 being presented by International Fashion Industries, Inc.
The SFIFW shows will be held during the three day period at Fort Mason on the San Francisco waterfront.
Another city to be added to the locations mentioned earlier not forgetting other locales around the globe such as Australia, Sao Paolo, Malaysia and many others. This is however, an addition worth looking into and added to our already busy schedule as we hop from city to city giving one little or no rest in between due to the variety of international fashion designers to be expected.
The 2006 Spring Collections showing will include several acclaimed designers from France in the likes of Gaspard Yurkievich, Isabelle Ballu, Afshin Feiz, Sebastien Meunier, and Pierre-Henri Mattout. Also included will be Paul Munroe and Black Coffee from South Africa, Shantanu & Nikhil, Manish Arora and Payal Jain from India, Rajo Laurel from the Philippines and alas some USA representation from Anu Mahal, Joseph Domingo, Cari Borja and last but certainly not least Lloyd Klein.
As Jacinta Law, CEO of International Fashion Industries, Inc explained, “San Francisco International Fashion Week’s goals are twofold. First, we’re bringing internationally known fashion designers from five diverse countries to San Francisco in a way never before attempted. Second, an International-American flavor for designer’s to exchange, display and celebrate global creativity through fashion. No better place to fuse the two markets, than the multicultural city that breathes International art, fashion, food and people than San Francisco, California.”
And with that said, why not go and have a look and see what San Francisco has to offer and see if this city will be worth the addition to the already hectic schedule of cities to be visited on a regular basis during fashion week.
