PARIS, Jul 2, 2004/ FW/ --- Sonia Rykiel presented a most thorough collection for the chic travelling man. The collection is filled with colour, lightness and an overall good vibe. It too has a rebellious feel to it and is infused with the energy of 70s.

As far as codes to follow from this collection just think ties, hats, plaids, blazers crop just below the waist and baggy pants with structure.

The show started with an intelligent ensemble featuring a pink blazer with micro horizontal and vertical stripes. This set the tone for the rest of the colour-rich show.

No surprise for anyone that the Rykiel Homme collection would feature vivacious colours. However, it is housemother’s way of putting them together that achieves the greatest affect on eye. Few other designers can brag of using colour as well as Miss Rykiel!

The second look featured a simple and elegant wool top in black. It was worn with trousers identical in colour as the pink blazer from the first look.

Throughout the show, the short cropped blazers and pants consistently drew the eyes of the crowd, dominating its attention. Rykiel’s blazers works wonders with the male silhouette. Her pants are pleated and have wide legs. They are very comfortable and structured, but in no way restricting.

The short impermeable coat from the collection is a personal favourite of mine. It’s an innovation on what really could not be innovated.

Jumpsuits also had a co-starring role in this collection. Rykiel’s are in denim, or in white or pink cotton. Depending upon individual personality, they can be dressed up for jetsetters or dressed down for a more relaxing, mundane lifestyle. Of them of all, it is actually the denim jumpsuit that is destined to please all ages!

Her A.K.A sorority pink pants and the A.K.A. sorority green body shirt are simple elegance for any man. They along the soft pink and black horizontally striped top truly incarnate the sans souci look and feel of the quintessential Rykiel man.

As we all know, no Rykiel Homme show would ever be complete without a dash of something sexy or spicy.

Miss Rykiel created both of these sensations with her denim hot pants for men! Hers are complete in the sense that they show off a man’s natural assets, while being both classic and sexy.

The hot pants created at Rykiel Homme are 100% in line with the trend being set by the new class of pretty boy designers such as David Kurtis. With this alone, Rykiel Homme once again proves that she has her finger on the very pulse of men’s fashion and trends.
