SYDNEY, May 6, 2005/ FW/ --- Trained under Donna Karan in New York and Cerutti in Milan, Toni Maticevski successfully integrates modern aesthetics with classical tailoring techniques to give a feel of the avant-garde.
Showing both men and women collections for Spring 2006, the Sydney-based designer proposed contemporary citified looks that moved from minimalist to sublime.
Mixing volume and texture for fluid silhouettes and then sticking to slim lines for the more structured cuts, the 27-year old designer once again did not disappoint his audience.
Though everything appears modern, the feeling that these pieces will become classics was the overwhelming appeal of the collection.
And that is the reason why Toni Maticevski has graduated from ‘a name to watch’ to ‘a must see show’ in the Sydney fashion scene.
