PARIS, Jun 30, 2004/ FW/ --- In the atelier, I was shown a piece of embroidery created especially for one of Julien’s
dress by embroiderer, Atelier Cécile Henri.
For reasons of confidentiality, I wasn’t able to take any photos of it. However, I can promise
that it is divine, having taken more than two weeks to create!
While there, it was really great watching Mme. Martine, the atelier’s première seamstress,
working with the other generations who are destined to carry on the torch once she is retired.
In that place, one gets the distinct impression that one is not in an atelier, but rather
transported into a laboratory where experiments are carried out and formulas perfected.
It is at this crossroads where vision, tradition, expertise, culture and the future all meet
for the same common goal. And it is here where a rare way of life is transmitted from
generation to generation.
“This collection puts the atelier’s needle in the spotlight”, says Cauvin. “Mme. Martine,
the atelier’s première couturier, will be very proud.”
This collection will also see the consecration of the new emblematic rose created by Julien
Fournié in honour of his illustrious predecessor, Mme. Rose Torrente-Mett, the founder of
Torrente Haute Couture.
It will be seen throughout this collection and will henceforth be present in future
collections to mark the historical and eternal place of Mme. Torrente-Mett in the annals
Parisian fashion.
