Tree: Fantastic
By: Lael Ward-Shapiro
LOS ANGELES, Apr 8, 2003/ FW/ --- LOS ANGELES, Apr 8, 2003/ FW/ --- Tree's Fall 2003 collection
shown last Thursday can be summed up in a single word: Fantastic.
Not only was the collection presented trendy; it was extremely attractive and unabashedly feminine.
From the first dress, plaid cotton and strapless, to the last dress of black silk and chiffon, the clothing continuously maintained outstanding standards in detail and beauty. Many of the dresses had a vintage appearance with lace and/or elegant embroidery that was never fussy.
Tree's colors for fall were the standard browns and blacks with a few deep blues and burgundy thrown in. Wool, cotton, knits and silk were drawn on to create lovely youthful outfits.
A long brown embroidered knit cardigan was delightfully matched with a viscose spaghetti strap dress, although the cardigan would have looked just as marvelous paired with a simple t-shirt and a pair of old jeans. And steel grey georgette skirt with a lacy trim balanced nicely with a simple black knit ribbed sweater.
Tree's collection was never boring and for those who want to dress with grace this coming fall any of Tree's designs will suit beautifully.
There's really nothing left to say.
