Woods & Woods: An Exercise In Youthful Style
By: Contributing Writer

Woods & Woods PARIS, Feb 16, 2005/ FW/ --- Jonathan Seow signed a surprisingly modern collection for his fashion label, Woods & Woods.

The collection, replete with formal tailoring, sportswear and some work-wear themes, has an individual look with spunky coupling of subdued street inspirations to it. This style is embellished throughout the collection with great detailing and luxury fabrics.

Seow’s jersey outfits create massive shoulders befitting those of an NFL quarterback. The pants are in a thick jersey and greatly resemble fencing pants. The hooded top has a samurai look to it.

The collection offers lots of pants reaching as far as the calf. They look soft and comfortable to the touch. However, nice legs and calf muscles are a prerequisite for any man before wearing these.

The jackets have large square pockets. They are both decorative and functional. Others have an 80’s feel to them, as do the pants in parachute material.

Before going further, I must register my own personal preference for the tulip-ended coat in white. It seems to be a new cut in the sometimes dull and boring world of men’s fashion. It brings more individualism to he who wears it.

Although a great deal of the collection has a relaxed fit to it, there is actually more structure to it than the untrained eye would believe.

The deconstruction is very subtle on the eyes in this collection engineered in wool, cotton, leather, quilted linings, and printed knits. The combination makes for a boyishly modern look that has an individual and cross-generation appeal to it.
