PARIS, Feb 1, 2005/ FW/ --- At the Salle Montenotte at the Avenue de Wagram last Sunday, Xavier Delcour packed some heat on a cold Paris day as he presented his very modern and contemporary menswear collection that continues to make him a name to watch as an emerging designer in the Paris fashion scene.
His approach is simple, his silhouette very clean and the looks very structured.
Rounded shoulders on shirts and jackets paired with comfortable pants the only adornments are zippers and buttons; Xavier Delcour redefines the ubiquitous term “minimalism” creating his own version of this genre.
Using his favorite color palette of black and white, the French-born designer chose low-waisted pants held by double leather belts – one on the traditional belt loops and one at the hip.
Cozy turtlenecks and urban bush jackets make a fashion statement for the metropolitan male. Not metrosexuals mind you, but your good ‘ole fashioned macho man.
The Xavier Delcour man breathes machoness and masculinity.
He takes the city by storm with his somber colored wardrobe. But he is not scared to experiment, like the black white paint splattered shallow V-neck top.
He is not to be trifled with because although he is very urbane, there is also the strength of the wild in him, carefully controlled and hidden in his city manners and smile.
