DALLAS, May 25, 2007/ FW/ --- Zac Posen, who received a Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters for their contribution to the world of Art and Design from the Academy of Art University School of Fashion last month chose Jenny Schweitzberger to intern with him this summer until September 2007 after New York fashion week.
After Jenny’s internship, she will then start a new position at Abercrombie & Fitch.
If that sounds like the BFA Fashion Design graduate is in great demand, it is actually what it sounds like. Jenny Schweitzberger’s graduation collection demonstrates the reason why.
Originally from Valier, Montana, Jenny was inspired by her own state. Taking away the rigid tailoring of 18th century military jackets but keeping its basic shape, Jenny widened the lapels, cut the waist narrower and added volume with bias cuts.
The result, a contemporary look that became a classic the moment it hit the runway. Add Icelandic sheepkin to give the effect of fur trim and shrugs… voila… you have the look of luxury.
