DALLAS, May 20, 2007/ FW/ --- Perhaps its because BFA Fashion & Knitwear graduate Lene Secher Andersen is originally from Vejle, Denmark. Maybe, it is even because she spent last year at Studio Berçot in Paris and interned at design companies Chloe and Studio Edelkoort. Or, it can be a combination of both.
No matter what the reason is, Lene Secher Andersen’s graduation collection definitely has European aesthetics written all over it.
Inspired by the Parisian architecture, old photographs and 1830s children’s costumes, Andersen created modern silhouettes that fused classic looks with urban styling.
Big buckles and big pleats, smock dresses and mannish coats & jackets, Andersen touched on the current trends seen on the international runways.
No wonder Loulou de la Falaise selected Lene to work with her in Paris.
