Belstaff MILAN, Jan 20, 2007/ FW/ --- When a company has a rich history like Belstaff, it only has to look at its own archives to find the perfect muse for the season. And for Fall 2007, Steve McQueen, who was also a big fan of the brand during his lifetime inspired this innovative collection that also embodies the iconic hero’s adventurous spirit and classic fashion sense.

At the center of this collection is the legendary Trialmaster, the Belstaff jacket that Steve McQueen wore during the Enduro race in Europe wherein he represented the U.S.

Reworking the original design of the Trialmaster to incorporate advances in fabric processing such as PCM® a new technology that counterbalances extremes and optimizes comfort under all conditions, Belstaff created a new classic.

A ‘smart fabric,’ PCM® modifies its temperature in accordance with body-temperature changes, i.e., it stays warm when the body is cool and vice-versa. Shall we borrow from the geek lingo and call Steve McQueen’s favorite jacket Trialmaster 2.0?

Still, the Trialmaster is only one of the looks proposed this season. Trench coats in gray that features the automatic Ergal frog closure with genuine leather trim. Double-breasted coat cropped short at the waist features the Quick Adjusting System®, which allows a garment’s fit to be change to suit its use is employed instead of the traditional buttons.

As usual with Belstaff, the innovations are not visible to the naked eye. For Fall 2007, natural fabrics such as wax cotton and Irish wool tweed had been bonded with ultra-light microporous film that is waterproof without altering its qualities of comfort and breathability.
