MILAN, Sep 25, 2006/ FW/ --- The lights went on and the first clothes you see are on the German minimal techno duo of Ellen Allien & Apparat. In a flowy white top, over a white mini, Ellen sang as Apparat mixed. The music and clothes set the mood for the ‘techno sensual’ collection.
Minimal colors in greys, whites in blacks were accented by fluorescent pinks and yellows. The neutral colors worked well for the collection helping you focus more on the interesting details that really define C’N’C. Like the horizontal black straps that were strategically places on the last four dresses or the intricate bead and sequin work that sparkled on many of the pieces.
Playing on the neutral sparkle look was the black chiffon dresses with sparkly black beaded stripes. The contrast of the hard and soft balanced out the simple cut and really made the pieces.
If it wasn’t the fluo straps and accent’s all the other accent details were done in the colors of the fabrics they were on. A simple white chiffon slip dress with pink fluo straps had beautiful sequin work done on the hem, which you might almost miss because it matched so well the dress color.
Other then the color range, the collection was strongly influenced by lingerie, with bustier tops of dresses and the use of many silks, satins and chiffons. The silhouettes ranged from light and flowy to slick and sleek.
The skinny ankle-length trousers were matched with sharp jackets, short light trenches and short bomber jackets. There was a large counterbalance of slim vs. flowy.
Dresses had puff hems and some tops seemed to float on the models. Long ties floated from the backs of dresses, the sides of shorts, and beltlines of jackets.
The thick high-heeled shoes also had long ties that wrapped around the ankles.
The show was urban grunge chic, playing on the techno theme while letting the shiny shimmery sparkly fabrics give roots to where the C’N’C’ girl really is from.
Ennio Capasa put together a street-smart collection for his second line that was sensual and strong at the same time.
