SYDNEY, May 3, 2004/ FW/ --- Australia is definitely the place if you are a designer of t-shirts and active wear, and you get a few more votes if you also do surf, after all you are in the land (island) of great beaches, laid back atmosphere and big waves.
One Teaspoon has managed to do just that, create a market out of the everyday. Now whilst it may be arguable whether a fashion show at Australia’s premiere showcase for fashion is the right place to show off your t-shirt making skills, it was a full house and a very entertaining half hour.
Take 1920’s flapper girls that have cast away the sadness of war, taken to drinking, dancing and smoking, raised their hemlines and been unleashed, mix it with skilled market knowledge and One Teaspoon is a hit.
Timelines moved from the daytime and boyleg inspired beachwear cossies with belted waists, to cocktail hour shortened hemlines and camisole tops to the seduction of darkness.
Printed t-shirts, leopard print and dirty dancing Charleston moves of deep cowl necklines and even a short legged jumpsuit leaving little to the imagination. Guys, gals are the seducers and all you need to do is take cover or enjoy the onslaught.
