NEW YORK, Feb 11, 2006/ FW/ --- From Milan to Paris, and now New York, the gritty side of the city has been an inspiration, and Jerry Tam designing under the label FORM brought sinister elements for his Fall 2006 collection, that is hauntingly beautiful and modern based on urban aesthetics.

Playing with volume and texture, Form designer Jerry Tam made unconventional fabric mixes like leather and velvet. Ruffles and ruching were used to create a romantic effect, with the emphasis on ‘effect’ because this is urban romance with undertones of the sinister parts of the metropolis.

And though the silhouettes were primarily slim, jackets were loose fitting with soft sloping shoulders. Putting everything in context, the looks were more for ‘downtown’ with the club culture rearing its head often.

It’s a very promising debut collection for a new label that was born out of friendship. Jerry Tam, Kelly Andrews, Eric Werner and Jaime Rosenthal make up the Form design team.

A native of Butte, Montana, Jerry Tam is the Form designer. He brings with him his work experience at Imitation of Christ, Perry Ellis and Zac Posen in making the creations for Form.

Kelly Andrews is Form Artistic Director, Eric Werner is Form Director of Operations and Jaime Rosenthal is Form Creative Director.

The brainchild of Jerry Tam, Form was born out of Jerry’s disenchantment with what the fashion world had to offer and Form came into being in 2005.

Kelly Andrews who lived in the same apartment building as Jerry was with Helmut Lang that time. When Helmut Lang closed his doors, Jerry approached Kelly with the idea of launching a new fashion label.

As the two were making plans to make Form a viable endeavor, Eric Warner who is a friend of Kelly’s from Helmut Lang joined the team bringing with him business knowledge.

Jaime Rosenthal whom Jerry met through a mutual friend is a stylist made the fourth addition to the team making it complete.
