MILAN, Feb 22, 2007/ FW/ --- There is a new aged Geisha who has grace in strength and sensuality in dark shadows. She may wear menswear inspired fabrics and styles but they don’t keep her sensuality from flowing out. She is untouchable yet always the object of desire.

Gaetano Navarra’s new woman is this new-aged Geisha. Many of the clothes have very masculine attributes but the balance of cuts and styles all give a very erotic message. Tweeds and pinstripes are paired with shades of grey and black setting a mysterious color palette.

More mystery is added when the models were also wearing a shiny nickel mask modeled after those in Stanley Kubricks’ 1999 release “Eyes Wide Shut”. The masks added with minute S&M details, hint to a haughty untouchable dream. These girls are above reality they are creators of lust.

The fact that you can see but not touch them is where the Atomism comes in. Black buckled belts frame the chest and waist in a bondage like feel and with the black on black it’s all very elegant. Shoes are given the name “bondage platforms” as they are blended with thick socks. But the thing is, that although she hints to S&M there is so much more to the clothes that it’s only subtle.

Prussian style high caps paired with long sharp skirts and jackets give a military feel. This woman is strong, elegant and powerful and she knows it. She bathes in luxury in all her fur coats and trims and she soaks in gems and jewels. Jacket buttons are transformed into huge rhinestones and skirts are covered with jewels.

Though the clothes have a very strong masculine base, feminine details are not at a lost to be found. Flashes of colors show up in hats and tweeds but always in a sensual tone. She is the dominator and dominated but most important of all she is unique.
