Joseph Font Spring 2007: A Lovely Fairy Tale
By: Mari Davis
PARIS, Oct 12, 2006/ FW/ --- With ‘When You Wish Upon A Star’ playing softly on the background, Joseph Font proposed a romantically modern wardrobe for all the princesses and little girls within every woman.
Joining the sobriety trend this season, Joseph font sent out baby doll dress made of lace, Mary Poppins cape blouses, empire cocktail dresses that are layered and cinched with an obi-wide belt that ends in a bow. It’s just like playing dolls, except that this time we are dressing the adult us.
Everything is lovely and very wearable, and most important of all, commercially viable. Joseph Font touched on almost every fairy tale from our childhood from Cinderella to Snow White, even Dr. Seuss with the black & white stripe sleeveless dress with a sewn-in bib on the bodice.
As Joseph Font wrote in his press notes, ‘She would have liked to be a princess, but in the place where she went to combat provided with an invisible sword. While laughing, while crying and while still laughing and while still crying, it did not lose the hope of a world, which would be made for it.’
And if that sounds like Lara Croft from the Tomb Raider fame or better yet, Yuna of the Final Fantasy video game, so be it. Of course, the wardrobe proposed is more for the Hans Christian Andersen genre.
Nevertheless, it is still as romantic and as beautiful as it could get, especially with the tiny tiaras!
