PARIS, Jul 3, 2006/ FW/ --- With the thermometer pegged on hot in Paris, Kim Jones’ breezy and refreshing collection for Spring 2007 was like a breath of fresh air making you feel cooler than 90 degrees F that was the temperature outside.
And with football fever running high, seeing a sportive collection that is as far away from soccer as possible is a welcome sight.
For Spring 2007, Kim Jones wants the lads to dress for comfort without giving up on style. Opting for white and pastels as the main color palette, the British designer created linear silhouettes for the young man on the go.
Shorts are loose with a low crouch and are paired with tees that are slightly gathered above the abs and below the waistline. Tees with sailor stripes in blue, short-sleeved blouson sweat shirts and cashmere crew neck tees in color blocks are the shirts of choice.
Trousers are kimono inspired, with the obi translated into a wide waistband. Loose-fitting and tapering slightly towards the ankle, that sometimes also comes gathered, it becomes multi-functional as street wear and gym gear.
Notable accessory is Kim Jones re-interpretation of the visor. Made of two-intersecting circles, it was inspired once again by the Japanese costume.
