NEW YORK, Feb 10, 2006/ FW/ --- Chic with ease is what Malo designer Fabio Piras proposes for Fall 2006.

Opting for a color palette of grey, anthracite, ash, smoke, iceberg, pure white and a luscious mix of camel and chocolate with a spice of fuchsia and of course your basic black in the 37 exits shown, Malo gave a nod to the neutral color trend that has swept New York this season.

Using very soft knit, gabardine wool, twill weaves, taffetas moiré, and cashmere Chantilly lace in cuts providing that very long, lean and elongated silhouette which was assisted by the various crocodile peep toe heeled footwear worn by the models.

Keeping the details to a minimum, he used rouching, draping, topstitching, brass buttons, pleats, high collars and plunging necklines as well as the back.

He also kept his focus on the waistline with the use of various elaborate extra wide belts as in a rope and leather belt, a brown wide leather belt with brass buckle, or the navy crocodile belt.

Malo also turned a few sweaters into dresses with his grey long sleeve chinchilla turtleneck dress and the white chunky turtleneck sleeveless dress that can be worn with or without one of the belts highlighted during the show.

Standouts include the grey cashmere military coat with cowl neck, a red cashmere capelet coat, the multicolor woven brass button suite trim coat worn over a peach silk blouse with jabot over a dark brown silk velvet trim skinny pant, the white sheared mink trench coat with brass buttons, and the navy chiffon and lace long sleeve dress with key-hole front.

Malo may have kept it minimal but chic and sexy enough to peek one’s interest!
