NEW YORK, Sep 12, 2006/ FW/ --- The UPS Hub this season is allowing for some great young talents to participate in a dynamic and impactful event for their careers. Sabyasachi is just one of those talents that deserves the opportunity in which UPS has provided.
With Indian actress, Rani Mukherjee (Bollywood's equivalent to Scarlet Johansen) sitting front row, Sabyasachi proposed a rustic countryside illusion mixed in with some librarian staples for Spring 2007.
The hemlines were so right, not too short but not too grandma long. Other hems including the bubble affect but less demanding and much more luxurious due to the fabrication and cut.
A cream and black, hand printed embroidered frock was a great example of his craftsmanship with working with bold prints and making them marketable. Sabyasachi who apprenticed with a textile designer in London as his prize for winning the ‘Most Outstanding Designer Award’ from the Times of India showed a sure hand in choosing distinctive fabrics.
Sabyasachi's garments were rightfully embellished or embroidered which gave his over sized pieces a feminine allure.
Sabyasachi is on target with his billowy silhouettes and ultra grown baby doll shirts. Many items were puffed and prairie inspired. Sashes added that extra touch of India and authenticity. His double puff tier sleeves were all the rage in prints of dots.
This rustic but lush show progressed to sequins in bulk. Gold and bronze looked expensive and chic and not cheap and dated. As models sported large framed librarian eye wear, it toned down the embellishments of quilting and shimmer.
Non-restricted rustic is Sabyasachi's take on Spring 2007....
