Jan 18, 2002/ FW/ --- Thinking of what to give your sweetheart on Valentine's Day? Start
thinking "bears."
A new survey from Hallmark reveals that the teddy bear is high on the list of American
favorites.
According to the survey, 50% of Americans owned a teddy bear as a child, and 25% of them
still own the bears, while 23% passed it on to another family member. The reason why they
keep these adorable cubs? Teddy bears has great sentimental value to the owners and reminds
them of their childhood.
It was no surprise when the survey revealed that 8 out 10 Americans have purchased a
teddy bear, and an overwhelming majority of the bears were given as presents.
And the surprising result - 13% of American men admitted that they would rather receive
a teddy bear over a card, dinner, jewelry or flowers on Valentine's Day because it makes them feel
more loved!
So, the saying, "Men are just big teddy bears," might just be more true than we thought.
Hallmark definitely understands America's love affair with the teddy bear.
