NEW YORK, Sep 13, 2012/ — For the past two season, Jill Stuart has surfed the wave of retro 1960s silhouettes with softness and naiveté feel, thus giving it an unexpected freshness.

However, this season, the New York-based designer proposed romantic-gothic looks with melancholic accents.

In a palette of black, white and aged pink salmon, the silhouettes are drawn close to the body, structured and rigid in contrast with some flexibility in lace dresses. Rather sober styling, brocades and lace ornamented with flowers made all tricky, but dull, a bit like a flower in his last days.

In fact, the show lacked this gentle energy that usually characterizes a Jill Stuart collection. Nevertheless, she ends with a better note with satin dresses, colored precious fluid, which reminds us why we appreciate its collections.
