Mango F15 (5)On June 29, 2015, MANGO launched its latest collection for Autumn/Winter 2015 at the Montjuïc Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium.

The catwalk, hosted by Jonathan Andic, got underway with one of the most-recognised faces on the international catwalks, the Brazilian model Ana Beatriz Barros, who commented: “Spain is a country full of life and passion and this fascinates me. I am Brazilian and I cannot help identifying with many of its customs.”

“I am delighted that MANGO is counting on me to open such a special event. What’s more, I adore music and the collection which MANGO has designed for this winter is a true homage to those crazy years of freedom and inspiration in the style and the talent of the true legends of music”, Barros added.

The firm opened the sixteenth edition of the 080 Barcelona Fashion catwalk in the presence of numerous famous faces from Spanish society. Jaime de Marichalar, Ana García Siñeriz and Tamara Falcó attended the event, to which over 800 guests were invited.

The event was also attended by Eugenia Ortiz, Andrea Pascual, Mónica de Tomás, Lulú Figueroa, Mercedes Peralta, María Fitz-James, Inés Domecq, Astrid Baute and Alejandra Prat.

MANGO translated the aesthetics of the sounds from the 60s and 70s in a catwalk that combined music and fashion. The style of Janis Joplin, Grace Slick, Patti Smith and Blondie was represented by leather coats, bell-bottom trousers, dresses and flowing blouses, as the heirs to a more hippie style in this transition featuring female icons in music.

The 58 outfits presented, in addition to a rock and disco style, also featured low necklines, leather drainpipe trousers, and the combination of textures and the shiny details that glorify the true glam aspect of this evolution. The men’s collection also looked back by reinventing the trends of pure British rock style.

Drainpipe trousers and outerwear such as army coats were key in a collection where black prevailed in garments with designs inspired by rock and beatnik with a folk touch.
On the Olympic Stadium catwalk, various acclaimed Spanish models appeared, including Jon Kortajarena,Rocío Crusset and Xavi Serrano. The most famous international faces included the models Clément Chabernaud, Arthur Gosse, Baptiste Radufe, Magdalena Jasek, Juana Burga and Carolina Thaler.
Bimba Bosé was the DJ who livened up the after-party, with the catering provided by Can Jubany.
