NEW YORK, Dec 6, 2000/ FW/ --- The moment I walked in the Adel Rootstein Showroon in New York, it was like being in a fashion show
that was an installation. Instead of human models, there were realistic mannequins. And if you just
glance at them, they look real people! Such is the realism of Adel Rootstein mannequins.
This year, Kevin Arpino, Creative Director for Adel Rootstein mannequins decided to dress up the
2000 series of mannequins released during Shop East to show fashion with hints of bondage and S&M.
Arpino designed the clothes himself, and if I am not mistaken, he got his inspiration from the runways
in London. I would go further and say the he had been looking into Vivienne Westwood's design during
the 1970s and 1980s.
