Life Style have been producers of traditional forms for about 40 years but only branched into their signature fiberglass translucent mannequins about 10 years ago.

"We manufacture all our own materials and sell the forms mostly by catalogue. But we also specialize in custom projects for large companies like Tommy Hilfiger, Nautica and Confederated Department Stores." commented Richard Rollison the Vice-president of sales, marketing and creative at Life Style Forms and Display Co.

Mannequin Trends for 2002

It is all about 'versatility.' And it is not because of the changing fortunes of retail stores. It is because selling has become very fast-paced.

Retailers has to change their displays more often. When new merchandise comes in, they have to be on the sales floor immediately. The selling cycle has been shortened, compared to about 10 years ago. [more]

Mannequin Trends for 2001

For 2001, Lifestyle is doing a kind of retro feel set of mannequins like those in flesh tones that were popular in the 60’s and 70’s. My inspiration was the Diesel store window. The revived trend of 70’s fashion was a pure case of the fashions influencing mannequins. It ran a full circle! [more]

Obscura Translucent Mannequins

The design field was buzzing with clear and translucent products and the stuff was turning up everywhere - in galleries, furniture and even clothes. So it was the right time to present it as a material for mannequins. The first big customer to order the ‘Obscura’ was Leon Max from Max Studio. We met Leon at the Chicago show last March and he was in the process of building new shops and was already using translucent material in the wall fixtures, which made it a perfect choice. [more]
