Mannequin Madness
"We have the perfect body for you to buy or rent, for your window, trade-show or special event."
Mannequins at Discount Prices
If you want to buy a mannequin or dress form but don't want to pay full retail,
consider buying a used one. Mannequin Madness is the largest recycler of used mannequin in
Northern California.
They carry an extensive selection of mannequins from all the top mannequin manufacturers
which they sell at a discount or rent (to Bay Area based customers only) for short-term needs.
Ethnic mannequins, plus size mannequins, even maternity mannequins are just some of the many
items carried by Mannequin Madness.
"Some of our mannequins are in mint condition, some are gently used and a few are
"distressed" which we sell at bargain basement prices," says owner Judi Henderson.
"In addition we carry a variety of mannequin parts such as legs, arms and torsos with heads,
but unfortunately not many hands."
A Recycling Legend
Mannequin Madness formed strategic partnerships with various retail chains and boutiques
who sell mannequins to the company when they are discarding mannequins due to store closures
or remodels or a change in their merchandising direction.
This is why Mannequin Madness has a constantly changing inventory of various styles and
from different manufacturers.
Last year the company recycled over 100,000 pounds of mannequins because retailers who
were planning to throw the mannequins in the dumpster called Mannequin Madness instead.
Mannequins are large, bulky items that do not biodegrade easily so it is not good to put
them in the landfill, especially when they can be re-used by others.
The Environmental Protection Agency gave Mannequin Madness a special recognition award on
Earth Day 2003, to acknowledge the company for its recycling efforts to keep mannequins out
of the local landfills.
Mannequin Floral Sculptures
Mannequin Madness also launched a line of life-sized floral sculptures using a woman's
dress form, called the Bella Donna collection.
They cover a mannequin form with synthetic flowers and fabrics to create elegant,
eye-catching displays which can be used as a centerpiece, window display, or art piece
for the home. Each Bella Donna is hand-made and customized for a particular color or theme.
An executive at Miramax films commissioned 13 miniature ones - all in shades of pink -
to use as tabletop displays for her daughter's bat mitzvah.
Another bride had her dress replicated in flowers and used it as a display for the gift table.
