Five Angels for the Millennium
LONDON, Dec 10, 2003/ FW/ --- There is a spiritual concern for humanity in Viola’s work.
As he walked through the exhibit he spoke of “the tyranny of the rational; the spiritual
crisis of America; reminding us that even the Buddhist Masters sit alone and cry.”

The last installation Five Angels for the Millennium was like being immersed in an IMAX visual
meditation room.
The images upon the five screens are overwhelming ethereal interpretations of angel figures
slowly and only periodically emerging through atmospheres of light and water.
It harkens to the rebirth of society’s soul, a belief we will emerge in spiritual harmony.
