The Camden Lock Market was established in 1975 and was the original market which started
the phenomenon that now draws more than 150,000 a week to the Camden Town markets.
Around 250 stalls, and 100 shops and workshops, in and around three open market yards and
a covered market hall offer an enjoyable few hours for shoppers and browsers alike.
The Stables Market is the largest of the Camden Markets. Designers selling their clothing and
accessories from shops and stalls have added colour and interest to this part of Camden.
Around 350 shops and stalls trade here at the weekend. Many are now open every day of the week.
The Camden Canal Market is perhaps less well known than the other Camden markets,
the Canal Market lies off to the east of the main road running between Camden Town and
Chalk Farm Underground stations. About 150 stalls and shop units sell a wide range of goods
including fashion accessories, recorded music, clothing, jewellery, giftware and a few
traders offer collectables.
The Camden Market is a busy jumble of around 200 stalls was originally known as Buck Street Market.
A few stallholders selling their own designs of jewellery and clothing are particularly worth seeking out.
