City of Paris Announces Fashion Award Winners

PARIS, Dec 8, 2004/ FW/ --- This week the City of Paris announced the winners of the Grand Prix de la Création for 2004.
And the winners in the category of fashion are (drum roll please)… the duo known as Lefrance-Ferrant in the special category for seasoned fashion designers and Paul Moreau in the category of beginning designers.
The winners will receive their prize during a « Paris – Capital of Creativity » soirée. The soirée will take place at Hotel de Ville (or Paris’ town hall on the 28th of January 2005.
For the fifth consecutive year, the International Competition for Young Fashion Designers will welcome the winners at the Carrousel du Louvre on Thursday, December 16th where they will present their collections.
The jury, under the presidency of the honourable Bertrand Delanoë, Mayor of Paris, and represented by Lyne Cohen-Solal, is composed of the director of economic development and employment, the director of cultural affairs, five members from Paris’ city council as well as other qualified personalities for each discipline chosen in relation to their particular competencies in the categories of competition.
These awards are meant to spotlight three beginning designers and three seasoned designers working in France for at least three years throughout the ensemble of their work in the domains of fashion, design and arts related careers.
