DALLAS, May 14, 2004/ FW/ --- Last week, the airline industry just got a little more fashionable when Song Airlines, Delta Air Lines’ low-fare, high-style air service announced that its new uniforms and accessories for flight attendants and customer service agents from renowned designers Kate and Andy Spade have officially taken to the skies.
Starting May 5, female flight attendants and customer service agents will be outfitted from head to toe in the Kate Spade collection, while male employees will wear JACK SPADE designs from Andy Spade.
The complete kate spade/JACK SPADE collections, designed by Kate and Andy Spade exclusively for Song, include clothing, handbags and totes. Song tapped the Spade team to design a look that would reflect its mission to bring style back to flying.
The new uniforms and unique accessories, which use the color palette of charcoal gray and green accents, capture the essence of Song: classic and stylish, comfortable yet sophisticated.
"Our designs for Song were inspired by the glamour days of air travel, a time when both the flight staff and passengers were consciously well-dressed when they traveled," said Kate Spade in a statement.
Approximately 800 Song employees are outfitted in the kate spade/JACK SPADE collections.
Song provides non-stop service between major cities in the Northeast United States and key Florida leisure destinations, plus Atlanta, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and direct service to San Juan.
