DALLAS, May 2, 2006/ FW/ --- It has been a year since the new Delta Airlines crew uniforms were shown under the tents at Bryant Park. And now, the whole world literally can see it as Delta Airlines take flight with its crew donning the new uniforms designed by Richard Tyler.

Delta tapped Tyler to design uniforms that are both fashionable and practical and in turn, the designer has created a look that evokes an era of glamorous and sophisticated air travel.

Stylish items like ¾ sleeve coat dresses, felt hats and silk scarves were fashioned for the women and French-cuff shirts, black bucket hats and double-breasted blazers for the men.

Delta is not the first and definitely not the last of the airlines that has hired a fashion designer to create its uniforms. The latest an most high profile ones are Christian Lacroix for Air France and Gianfranco Ferré for Korean Air.

For the new designer uniforms are the first of many features the airline is adopting from its popular subsidiary, Song.

This summer the carrier will also begin reconfiguring its 48 Song Boeing 757s as it prepares for the fall launch of a new two-class, domestic long-haul service.

All-leather seating, an in-flight entertainment system with live TV, movies, music and video games available on-demand and signature drink offerings are just a few of Song’s innovations which will continue to play a vital role in the refreshment and reinvigoration of the Delta product and experience.
