Kevin Spacey LOS ANGELES, Apr 16, 2007/ FW/ --- On its first foray on the reality show genre, the Style Network chose fashion designer-mogul-mom Kimora Lee Simmons as the focus. With the working title ‘Kimora,’ the series is expected to debut this summer.

Explaining the network’s choice, Salaam Coleman Smith, Executive Vice President of The Style Network said, “Kimora Lee Simmons is simply a fascinating woman. She is refreshingly blunt, absolutely honest and outrageously entertaining ... the kind of woman who knows what she wants and how to get it.”

Well known among the fashion set, Kimora Lee Simmons made ‘phat’, the acronym for ‘Pretty Hot And Tempting’ a household word. She is better known today as the CEO and Creative Director of the fashion brand ‘Baby Phat.’

But, Kimora’s life in fashion did not begin as a designer. At the age of 13, she took Paris by storm when Karl Lagerfeld chose her to model for Chanel in Paris. And, since then, the St. Louis, Missouri-born Kimora had led a fascinating life.

Born a Japanese mother and African American father, Kimora is the only multiethnic woman to have a successful fashion empire and lifestyle brand which includes fragrance, cosmetics, beauty, and home collections.

She is also the author of the inspirational/lifestyle guide "Fabulosity: What It Is and How To Get It." Additionally, Kimora has established the Kimora Lee Simmons Scholarship Fund at her St. Louis alma mater that provides college tuition support for academically successful girls with financial needs.

The series will give the audience a peek inside the hip-hop halls of Baby Phat, a global brand that includes cosmetics, fragrances, home goods, jewelry ... even diamond-encrusted electronics.

Viewers are invited along for the ride as she leads her company to new heights of success, from product launches to press tours to high fashion events. It sounds exhausting, but this is only half of Kimora's day.

Simmons puts her two daughters, seven-year-old Ming Lee and four-year-old Aoki Lee, above all else. Like everything she does, Kimora lives her private life in a very big way. The show will include regular visits to the family's New Jersey estate, where life is often hectic for a woman who must balance her dedication to the girls with philanthropic and social commitments.

“This series is going to open a lot of women's eyes to the possibilities life has to offer, and all of us at Style are happy to be working with such an inspirational woman,” said Salaam Coleman Smith as a final note.
