MILAN, Apr 22, 2007/ FW/ --- The science of aerodynamics converged into Versace’s pure lines of Italian elegance with the Limited Edition Jet Seat by the Milanese maison as part of its 2007 Home Collection offering.
Produced in a limited and numbered edition, the Jet Seat’s stylistic design is enhanced by the choice of opulent materials and sophisticated manufacturing techniques.
Identifiable by the high quality finish to the ceramic structure, this limited edition piece underwent a long production process that employed cutting edge technology seldom seen in furniture making.
To create the structure of the Jet Seat a mixture of very fine ceramic powder is injected into specially designed maximum resistance steel moulds. The frame is very sturdy but extremely delicate and requires a long firing period, followed by hand rubbing, sanding and finally polishing.
At this stage, the ceramic frame can be fitted with the seat in a modern aerodynamic shape that delivers an immediate sense of supreme comfort.
The seat is upholstered in soft white leather, embroidered by hand with the classic Greek fret motif - the distinctive emblem of the Versace “Couture” collections.
