NEW YORK, Feb 5, 2008 / FW/ — With glitter on the clothes and the glitterati on the front row, Sass & Bide shone bright last Saturday especially with Nicky Taylor, the cast of Bravo’s ‘Make Me A Supermodel’ and Nicky Hilton in attendance.
Whimsical as always, Heidi Middleton and Sarah-Jane Clarke created circles beaded in green, red and blue that made them look like bubbles and/or baubles, because both words can be used to describe them.
Cute tight pants are sheered with pin tucking on the out seam, creating the illusion that they are lurex leggings. Speaking of illusions, Sass & Bide literally wove in their magic using ribbons by creating graphical shapes with them.
Sequins in all colors of the rainbow were used generously in the collection from the tank tops that were adorned with argyles, rays of the emanating from the neckline, and tie-dyed shirts with a big heart in the middle.
The whimsies are the hats that were used to complete the look of a ruffled sleeve or A-line short dresses. As their wont, Middleton and Clarke add something extra to complete the look like a pleated black with a white edge outline on one sleeve or ruffles cascade on one sleeve only.
They also used aprons and dishabilles that were modernized and interesting shapes added.
