MILAN, Feb 19, 2008 / FW/ —It may seem strange to have a women’s collection by two Belgian designers and a French name that means “the men”, but in reality duo Tom Notte and Bart Vandebosch make it work.
Les Hommes started off, through the collaboration of the design duo, as a men’s collection but with their success and growth they have branched out to the other sex. Les Homes, women’s collection, is exactly what you may think, a beautiful interpretation of men’s wear for the woman.
This season celebrating the opening of their new showroom at via Bergamo 6, in Milan, Les Homes is presenting, Les Hommes- Femme by Tom and Bart. It’s a contemporary and innovative collection that plays on the unification of dichotic elements. Being quite the contrast themselves the designers love to play with this idea of blending together what one would think are opposites.
For Femme, the unification is seen in the sleek sexy and ultra feminine designs that are highly constructed and designed by the rules of menswear. A slim fitting cocktail dress with a tuxedo décolleté is just one of the fine examples of this unification.
But don’t be fooled that that is all these Belgians have up there sleeves because not only is there collection about unification but about creativity and pushing the lines. The beautiful now almost trademark collar, that in actuality is a double collar folded over on itself, is just one of the few unique details to the collection.
Don’t be frightened by the name, Les Hommes – Femme, is suitable for any women who likes to look good.
