MILAN, Feb 24, 2008 / FW/ — The Caten twins are at it again, following their Men’s collection, this Fall/Winter Women’s collection hit the stereotype sexual fantasies. Well dressed clean-cut designs paired with fishnets and platform heels, change the librarian look into a sensual dominatrix. If there is something to be sure about it’s that the Dsquared woman is anything but dowdy, so when you see her looking a little too nice, look closer.
This season pencil skirts were for the femme fatale, red lipstick and nail polish were accompanied by biker and gothic details. Mini black clutches were embellished with large spikes while slim fitting dresses were accessorized with shiny belts and chains. Zippers also played a big role in the accessory department, as they were bold and apparent. Gloves came in two cuts super long and super short and shoes were one style, super high.
Colors were professional and seducing at the same time as black, grey, green and camel were occasionally highlighted by red and tartan accents. The waist was a big focal point with waist cinching belts or slim fitting designs. Focusing on femininity the Dsquared “lady” was all that and more during the day time but as night wore on and layers came off, out came the seductress.
Camisoles, bustiers, satin, feathers, fur and lace were the nighttime getups for the collection. “This season, the Dsquared2 woman wears a skirt…she prefers her men to take off the pants!”, as the Dsquared2 press office put it. It’s not about the normal societal roles of power but the sexual roles of power, where woman can be either role, but in this case they are the dominatrix. So don’t be deceived by what may look nice and sweet, I’m sure upon closer inspection Dsquared details will tell you otherwise.
