Just CavalliMILAN, Feb 24, 2008 / FW/ — Cavalli is known for his daring prints and sensual designs so where better to find inspiration, for his Just Cavalli line, then a place known for the same. This season with an array of outfits sporting flamingo prints, Cavalli took inspiration from the Miami, Florida. Designing this collection with youth and individuality in mind he reflected on vintage designs from the seventies and modernized them for present day.

Cavalli put borrowing from the past as “rummaging in their moms closet, gathering things from vintage shops and discovering ideas from images on vinyl record cover.” With styles like loose fitting trousers, trouser suits an knit vests over blouses, the era Cavalli was rummaging through was the seventies.

Colors were muted peach, tangerine, and emerald green with an arrange of bright accents. Accessories took on Latin Miami inspirations as large gold chains hung super size charms and aviator style shades had a dark umbra. Matching a flamingo print blouse with snakeskin mini skirts and cheetah tights, the collection succeeded in making the Just Cavalli girl individualistic.

Dresses were short or floor length, pants were full or flared and vests were cropped or long. While styles covered up the body colors and sparkling materials kept youthful femininity a strong element. The collection, as always, was daring to be different blending by a mélange of elements. Masculinity and femininity cusped on the edge with classic and modern and in this way Cavalli succeeded in his attempt to express individuality in a fresh way.
