Earth Pledge Kicks Off Fall 2008 New York Season With FutureFashion

Nancy O’DellDALLAS, Jan 26, 2008 / FW/ — Behnaz Sarafpour, Bottega Veneta, Burberry, Calvin Klein, Derek Lam, Diane Von Furstenberg, Donna Karan, Doo.Ri, Giambattista Valli, Givenchy, Isabel Toledo, Jil Sander, Marc Jacobs, Marni, Martin Grant, Marti, Michael Kors, Moschino, Narciso Rodriguez, Prada, Ralph Lauren, Rogan, Stella McCartney, Thakoon, Three As Four, Versace, and Yves Saint Laurent have joined together to present FutureFashion, an eco-friendly runway show geared toward raising awareness about the need to use sustainable materials in the fashion industry.

The runway show will feature one-of-a kind creations by 30 top international designers in support of Earth Pledge, an initiative to balance the impact of human activity on nature – from farming to design and manufacturing.

Additionally, a Who’s Who’s list of fashion industry leaders are involved including Fabien Baron, Bureau Betak, Julie Gilhart, Shalom Harlow and Elettra Wiedemann, who worked with Earth Pledge to bring FutureFashion into fruition. Sponsors include Lexus Hybrid Innovations, Pure and Natural, and Barneys New York. 

FutureFashion will be held on Thursday, January 31st at Gotham Hall at 6:00 pm. Prior to the show, Pure & Natural™ will hold an exclusive press briefing in the VIP lounge where Nancy O’Dell, (photo above) host of the top rated entertainment show Access Hollywood, will be on hand to give backstage access to the show as well as to discuss an exciting charity design initiative between Pure & Natural™ and a bevy of veterans from Bravo TV’s breakout hit Project Runway.
