Akris Akris DALLAS, May 26, 2007/ FW/ --- Albert Kriemler has a very definite vision of the uptown girl – sophisticated and strong with a touch of daintiness that can take your breath away.

Fall 2007 will be a season for strong women, as it was the most noticeable trend last February and March from New York, Milan and Paris. Albert Kriemler of Akris gave a big nod to that trend proposing a predominantly palette with gray, maroon and beige to brighten up the cold winter nights.

A notable aspect in the Akris Fall 2007 collection is the extended standing collar that reaches up to the lip level that gives it a military feel that actually ranged from the Middle Ages up to World War II.

And though the black fur tunic is more of an apron than a reworking of body armor, the extended standing collar makes it military-inspired.

When the standing collar was incorporated in a two-piece evening dress, the black top given puff sleeves and cascades of beads, the effect was reminiscent of the medieval dungeons neckpieces used to hold prisoners.

But instead of being scary, it actually gave a dash of naughtiness, something that is unexpected from the very prim & proper uptown girls, thus making the look alluring.

A very architectural collection, softness was added with knits. Short cropped jackets done in cable knit and squares and chiffon layered on top of coats with two-layered lapel added daintiness without straying from the main theme of strength.
