Basso & Brooke Spring 2006: Beautiful & Breathtaking
London Fashion Week Spring 2006
LONDON, Sep 20, 2005/ FW/ --- Buckling the trend of getting inspiration from the tropics that has swept both New York and London, Basso & Brooke created original prints that are so beautiful and breathtaking.
The 2004 Fashion Fringe winner and currently awardees of the New Generation Designer from Top Shop, Basso & Brooke with the signing of their third collection proved that the kudos they have been receiving from the fashion press is well deserved.
As accomplished colorists, the design duo sent slim fitting pants and snug fitting tops and blouses all in their original print that can rival Emilio Pucci during his prime.
Of course, the style is totally Basso & Brooke and as far away from the famous Emilio Pucci prints. It is the spirit that is similar – a kaleidoscope of color that is eye-catching.
The same way that Emilio Pucci is a product of his generation creating prints that are today synonymous with art, Basso & Brooke’s original prints is for today’s generation, a reflection of the popular culture.
Still, it is not only the prints that are brilliant. Basso & Brooke can also cut, drape and add volume. Mixing tailored and fluid silhouettes, the design duo came up with layered gowns with oversized ruffles as hems and bias-cut skirts divided into gores and godets.
As we see more and more of Basso & Brooke, the more we recognize their design genius.
