True Meaning LOS ANGELES, Oct 31, 2004/ FW/ – A name fitting for this young design team made up of two sparkling ladies, Angela Batinovitch and Janett Kim. The name is simple, Bat’s Daughter, easy to remember and kept in the family, being the daughter of Bat, Dad’s nickname, possibly her biggest fan, Daddy’s little girl Angela is literally Bat’s Daughter.

A lovely collection for these new comers to Mercedes fashion week in Los Angeles, that was neither too girly nor too casual, an easy trap to fall into this side of the country judging by this weeks performances. Instead they chose to go with classical chic, well-tailored outfits that are fitting for any lady in any country.

With hints of semi vintage, the 1940’s, printed chiffon and delicate layers, femininity finally found its way onto the catwalk. Pleats gave volume where needed leaving halter necks to enhance the upper torso.

In this mix of casual and classical, the designers manage to captivate ladylike qualities via clothing and finish them off with functionality. Classical men’s tailored linen trousers are flat fronted and fall straight, worn with tank or silky high-buttoned shirt, their women remain sensual.

A lady should never give away all her secrets, and while oozing with sex appeal, she remains fun and light hearted in handkerchief hems and skirts falling just below the knee. Broach clasps decorate delicate jackets before airy summer dresses dance in the breeze and night falls, turning modern day Marilyn’s into silver screen divas.

Hollywood can make the eyes twinkle, it can also make them water and blur where it is easy to loose concentration and hard to keep focus, lets hope this doesn’t happen to these two young creatives, bound for success as they presented possibly one of the best collections seen all week. Buyers, get them while they’re hot.
