Bless DALLAS, May 16, 2004/ FW/ --- Bless, the Dutch design duo known for their very conceptual designs celebrated ’10 Years of Themelessness’ last February and March with events both in Milan and Paris fashion weeks.

In Milan, Bless launched their book ‘Celebrating 10 Years of Themelessness’ with an opening brunch at the Spazio Rossana Orlandi and unveiled their Fall 2007 collection ‘No 31 Ohyescollgreat’ via an installation. The same collection was shown in Paris a week later.

To borrow from singer / songwriter Paul Simon, Bless is ‘still crazy after all these years,’ in a fond way of speaking! Presenting both menswear and womenswear collections, Bless continued their alternative slant on clothing.

And though this is another collection that is ‘themeless,’ it is actually a very coherent and tight collection wherein the texture, the cut and volume were the threads that bound all the pieces together.

From the men’s knitted pullover vest, which was segmented like a caterpillar, to the long-sleeved woman’s blouse that featured segmented sleeves, the concept was easily understandable. That segmentation was also seen in the quilted down jackets for both men and women.

Another interesting concept is the use of graphical shapes, specifically the triangle. Seen in knitwear and also embossed material fabrication, Bless once again pulled the collection together with a concept.

Again, borrowing from Paul Simon’s song, ‘Still Crazy After All These Years,’

I'm not the kind of man
Who tends to socialize
I seem to lean on
Old familiar ways

Bless’ 10th anniversary collection is familiar but also very avant-garde!
