PARIS, Mar 17, 2005/ FW/ --- Charles Anastase presented in Paris a collection rich is diversity. The collection’s overall theme is a take on his vision of Alice in Wonderland.
The collection, which has looks with run from very sophisticated silhouettes to hippie easiness at times. The two combine together in an intriguing way to create a girl-chic appeal.
The turtlenecks in black and white have illustrations sketched by Anastase himself. They are quite a few pieces with carefully unfinished edges.
On the Wonderland theme, the designer created “short” pieces such as the trench coat and his navy blue coat with big red buttons. They look like pieces that have been shrunken to perfection midway down the forearms. Black ballerina shoes complete the theme.
In a shocking turn, some pieces then become very intricate such as the black knickers with straps, large pockets, wide waist and belt loops. A short-cropped jacket in the same black fabric accompanies it.
The volume is found in the sleeves. The jacket, which has a detachable portion, is enough to be complete theme for another collection.
