DALLAS, Mar 13, 2005/ FW/ --- Emerging designer Cosmic Wonder presented its Fall 2005 collection in Paris with the mystic power of the pyramid at its central core.
A little bit ethnic, with roots in the past, Cosmic Wonder embarked upon the journey of visiting tribes all over the world via the runway.
White ninja uniforms of 16th century Japan, cut with dolman sleeves and worn with loose fitting pants tapered down at the hem to be wrapped with cloth became the new urban uniform.
Hooded capes in white were matched with oversized cable knit sweaters while a square shawl trimmed with fur were decorated with prints from the Mongolian mountains.
Volume and draping are the keys to this collection. Comfort and individuality is the message. Mostly white with a sprinkling of color, the heavy fabrics used in the layers of clothing ensured warmth and ease of dressing during the cold winter.
Poised for a cult following rather than the mainstream, Cosmic Wonder’s dabbling with mysticism in a fashion statement makes it stand out among the emerging designers showing this season.
